Just as there are plenty of attractions in Houston to keep us all occupied when we’re not working, there are also a huge range of entertainment options too. Texans like to have a good time and nowhere is that more true than here!
Here are just a few of the many entertainment options to enjoy while you’re in Houston.
The Museum of Fine Arts is one of the most popular destinations in the city. It’s a full-on cultural experience that showcases the best domestic and international art. There are regular exhibitions from around the world and there is something different to see each every time you visit.
While not a destination per se, the Houston Museum District is definitely worth a visit next time you’re in town. It encapsulates the best museums in the city, as well as restaurants offering high quality food to maintain your energy while you absorb everything the district has to offer.
The Cockrell Butterfly Center is a glass domed mini rainforest in the middle of the city. Next door to the Museum of Natural Science, this is a logical next stop of any tour. You can see hundreds, if not thousands of species of butterfly in their habitat in a rainforest setting.
The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts is a great venue if you like theater. The resident players are always performing, as are national and international performers from across the world. See Broadway shows, musical and local production all under one roof.
The Children’s Museum of Houston represents the finest example of a children’s museum that we know of. It’s full of interactive exhibits, displays, tours, talks and opportunities to learn and explore. There is also a café to maintain your enthusiasm all day long.
The Miller Outdoor Theatre is a short walk from the Museum District, in Hermann Park and makes for an excellent venue to watch live performances. Open 8 months of the year, you can take a blanket, a picnic and enjoy symphony orchestras, live theater or other performances as you relax.
The Houston Museum of Natural Science is a local highlight and should be on everyone’s to-do list. There are hundreds of thousands of exhibits, including local specialties, energy and space. There are also bones, a planetarium, IMAX theater and more. It’s another opportunity to learn, expand your mind and have fun at the same time. Not to be missed.
