Gilbert, Arizona is a suburb of Phoenix and was known as the ‘Hay Shipping Capital of the World’ thanks to its agricultural roots. The modern city is relaxed, hardworking and still growing. It’s to the east of Chandler, south of Mesa, southeast of Phoenix and is home to around 240,000 people.

Gilbert wasn’t incorporated until 1920 but has grown slowly and steadily since then thanks to the railroad and its agricultural base. From 1990 until 2003, it was the fastest growing city in the country. There is no dominant economic driver here. It’s a small city that is largely self-sufficient and it seems content to stay that way.

There is no rail connection to Gilbert or national bus link.

The Santan Freeway, Loop 202 and US-60 are the main arterial transport links connecting Gilbert. Otherwise, local routes handle most of our traffic.
