Mercer Island really is an island. Set on Lake Washington, east of Seattle and west of Bellevue, it’s a great place to live. Everything in the area is easily accessible as the I-90 Expressway crosses the north of the island. The island was named after the Mercer family who first settled here during the 1880s.
The area is predominantly residential that includes a lot of high end properties. Mercer Island is limited by size, so land here is valuable. Neighborhoods are friendly and made up of those who commute to Seattle or Bellevue. Communities are friendly and active and there is always something going on. There is a lot of outdoor space, schools are good and there is everything on the island itself for day to day living.
Local highlights include Luther Burbank Park and Keewaydin Clubhouse.
