Magnolia sits next to The Woodlands outside Houston, Texas. It was once known as “Mink” and is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city. It’s a small neighborhood, covered only a couple of square miles, but it’s a nice place to call home.
Until 2011, Magnolia was a dry city, with sales of alcohol banned. That law was repealed and so far, hasn’t had a negative effect. Originally, Magnolia grew from a trapping and forestry industry, which is probably where the name “Mink” came from. Now it’s a mainly residential neighborhood but has its own town center, local industries and employers.
